Field of Dreams 2026 Game Day Guide
Parking, arrival, mobile ticket preparation, venue conditions and official policy highlights for Thursday, August 13, 2026.
This is an independent planning summary. Event procedures can change, so visitors should review current official MLB guidance shortly before traveling.
Build extra time into the trip.
The site is reached by rural roads near Dyersville. Heavy traffic and extended waits are possible when large numbers of guests arrive or depart within the same window.
Your ticket is the parking pass
Guests must present the official game ticket before entering roads leading to the site. On-site parking is first come, first served.
Parking opens at 2:00 PM CT
Arrive early enough to manage traffic, parking and the walk through the event site before public gates open.
ADA parking
Accessible parking is available for vehicles displaying the appropriate placard or plates. Early arrival is recommended.
Oversized vehicles
RVs, trailers and other oversized vehicles require advance authorization and a parking permit from official event parking personnel.
Do not wait for the cornfield to test your login.
Official game tickets are distributed digitally. Download the MLB Ballpark app, verify the email associated with the ticket and confirm that all tickets are visible before beginning the trip.
Mobile service may be slower when crowds arrive. Screenshots may not replace a functioning mobile ticket, so complete official app setup in advance.
A working farm, not a polished downtown concourse.
Expect grassy areas, gravel pathways, cornfields and uneven ground. Comfortable closed-toe footwear is the sensible choice, despite humanity’s recurring faith in decorative shoes.
Outdoor terrain
Prepare for sun, heat, weather changes and extended walking across a rural site.
Movie-site house
The house is not open for public tours during the MLB event, though photo opportunities are available with it as a backdrop.
Public gates open at 3:30 PM CT.
Official guidance lists photo opportunities, playing catch on the original movie field, cornhole and walking through the corn path to the MLB field among the pregame experiences.
Pack lightly and leave the clever exceptions at home.
Bag dimensions
Bags larger than 16 by 16 by 8 inches are prohibited. Medical and diaper-bag exceptions may apply, and all bags are subject to inspection.
Cameras
Personal cameras are permitted, but professional cameras with detachable lenses, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks and drones are prohibited.
Baseball gloves
Guests may bring baseball gloves into the Field of Dreams site.
No general re-entry
Guests are not generally permitted to leave and re-enter on the same ticket. Speak with security before exiting in an emergency.
Concession areas are cashless.
Food and beverages are available throughout the event site. Outside food and beverages are generally prohibited except for medical circumstances. Factory-sealed plastic water bottles and empty refillable bottles are permitted; glass, metal and ceramic containers are not.
Plan for the site, not only the seat.
Special assistance
Because the venue includes grass, gravel and uneven terrain, guests who need assistance should review official accessibility information and plan ahead.
Young children
Children under 30 inches tall do not require their own ticket but must sit on an accompanying adult’s lap.
Strollers
Collapsible strollers that can be stored under the seat are permitted.
No tailgating
Tailgating is prohibited in all Field of Dreams event parking areas.
